Through the years I have heard many people, usually of the conservative persuasion, who seem to think a Constitutional Convention would be a good idea. I could not disagree more. Let me explain why.
First, delegates to such a convention would include members of Congress and representatives from the various State Legislatures. Who has the majority of seats in Congress and the State Legislatures? Democrats YIKES.
Second, even if Conservatives ever do get a majority of these legislative bodies, where is Thomas Jefferson? James Madison? Benjamin Franklyn? George Washington? John Adams? I sure do not see people of their caliber running our country. I do not see anyone in our government today that I would trust to re-write the constitution!
